Ski Center
The ski resorts are located in the commune of Lo Barnechea, on a large plain 2340 meters above sea level, just 36 km from Santiago. You can find a vast area of mountains, which meet together to four major ski resorts in Chile: El Colorado, Farellones, La Parva and Valle Nevado.
Most ski centers allow you to enjoy the snow and sports such as skiing and snowboarding, and all hotel services are fully equipped and offer food, lessons, rentals and the transportation of equipment.
You can also choose an option a little further from the city. 164km north of Santiago is Portillo, with more than 15 ski resorts, located in the Andes at 2,860 meters above sea level, at a distance of 80km from the city of Los Andes and less than 6km from the Paso Los Libertadores, on the border to Argentina.
Prices vary according to the center, and you can chose between full service packages, which include transportation, equipment and ticket, as well as just a ticket for the access and the use of ski slopes. The season opens in mid-June and ends in mid-October.
Not only can you enjoy the mountains in winter, also the summer offer is great with various activities such as mountain biking and trekking.
